My good friend Benji at Poler’s wife, Nahanni, recently decided to undertake a massive project. Her father ran a treeplanting business on the west coast in British Columbia from 1977 to 1987 called Nahanni Reforestation. At the time, Nahanni was a young girl and she grew up in the woods – not to mention she was born in a teepee. Years later, she discovered all of her father’s negatives and began scanning them.

It’s inspiring to see it all unfold and now, she’s launching a Kickstarter to gain funding for a book.

This is by no means the first proprietary locking skewer system on the market, but Nutlock puts a clever spin on the concept. Head over to their Kickstarter to find out more about these security skewers. Oh and yes, it doubles as a bottle opener wrench…

Toronto’s YNOT has been working on developing a camera bag line but need a little bit of a boost in production costs, so they’ve opened a Kickstarter. Check out the video above and head over via the link for photos and more information.

For a while, I refused to post Kickstarter campaigns. Mostly because the products seemed chintzy or a little too hastily designed. Until recently, I’ve been coming across some products that are so simple that I want to share them. That’s what I thought about the Lever+ Bike Tool.

It’s a tire lever, something most people carry when they ride, combined with a 4 mm, 5 mm hex, Phillips head driver and a T-25 Torx head driver. Basically everything you’d need in a multi-tool, stuffed into the plastic gut of a tire lever.

At this point, I get at least a dozen emails a week from people regarding Kickstarter projects. I usually sift through the ones I like and this week’s pick are the Blink / Steady Lights. I can get behind all of this. If and when they develop a USB-chargeable version, I’ll support it even more. Regardless, these look great and are made in Brooklyn, NY but are not cheap.
