Wish List: Vol. 1 – Tools, Trucks, Bottles, and Butts

Welcome to the first installment of Wish List, where Radavist contributors share their dreams of things that don’t exist, but maybe should. Some will be slightly niche but perfectly reasonable ideas that have every right to exist. Others will be impractical, expensive, and/or dangerous fantasies that probably should remain fantasies. Travis dives in first with a list that spans this spectrum quite nicely.

Sklar Bikes Titanium Bottle Cages

Sklar Bikes‘ component line is ramping up this year and the first new product are these nifty Sklar Bikes titanium bottle cages that feature 15 mm of vertical adjustment thanks to the long slotted mounting plates. That allows you to adjust them to make room on smaller frames or for a framebag. They’re bent from titanium which is our favorite material for a bottle cage, thanks to the springy nature of the material, ti cages grab your bottles tightly, avoiding them jettisoning on a rocky descent.

Sklar Bikes Titanium Bottle Cage Specs:

Price: $68 each/$100 pair
Weight: 32 g
Adjustability: 15mm
Made in: Taiwan

See more at Sklar Bikes, where they just got in more stock of their titanium seatpost too!

The Sim Works John Bottle Cage

The newest product from Nagoya-based Sim Works is the “John Cage”, a bottle cage unlike anything we’ve seen before, designed from scratch, designed and made in Japan, and a truly elegant design. The John cage’s inspiration is best summed up by the team at Sim Works:

“When a young musician found hunger on his path, he looked to the ground beneath him to carry him onward. Thus began a life-long quest for fungi and the mirror it shines on the rest of our worlds. That fascination spawned- and cast its spores through the vibrations we hear and the paths we follow.”

Material: Stainless Steel
Weight: 74g
Finish: Black, shot blast
Double mount system – high and low offset
