It’s been real fun hanging out with Jeff from All-City. We raced together, we partied together and even got sick together. Jeff knows how to live the life as the manager of a party brand. But sometimes it gets too much for him to handle. We were supposed to go touring but the urban #campvibes got the best of him.

I’ve got a bunch of scraps from various film backs that I’ll be posting periodically, starting with these two of Woody, the National Track Champ, Olympic mechanic and co-owner of Golden Saddle Cyclery. Check out one more below.

I showed you this sprocket in February of 2011 and it’s finally seen the light of day. While I’ll always support TREE, the originators of the splined sprocket, these All-City Def Stars are looking damn fine and at $65, no one can complain. Here’s the scoop:

“Our big twist is the clocked splines which allow for weight savings, while still maintaining exceptional strength.  A cutout on one side, means a spline on the other and vice versa. In addition, rather than the standard 6mm thickness, the Def Star is 8mm thick.

Basically it was made to handle whatever you can throw at it and still only weighs in at 147g for the 33t version.

We’ve been working on the design for over two years, and it’s telling that all of our original proto’s are still being ridden today.  We believe that this is definitely the best sprocket on the market and invite you to check it out.

P.S. Yes we have a 28t version on the way.”

I very rarely wear low socks, but if I happen to feel like exposing my ankles, I’ll put on my Sock Guy merinos. They’re great socks on or off the bike, so I can see why Jeff at All-City would pick them to make his socks. Pick some up now at your LBS for $16.50.

I’ve been tempted to roll with Paul MiniMOTO brakes on my cross bike this year. Especially after seeing Kyle‘s photos of this Nature Boy all pimped out (love the Easton fork on this by the way). Check out more slickness here.

Kyle from Golden Saddle Cyclery named a track bar! After those Save the Track Bike buttons made him millions, he decided to immortalize the slogan in a new handlebar from All-City. Pick these up at your LBS! See more here and here.

Break out the Sodium Chloride, Ammonium Hydroxide and Ammonium Chloride. All-City‘s got some new copper parts that are begging for a nice purple-hued patina. Head to your LBS because these are limited.

JBall puts in some hefty work here in his second scraps edit for All-City and Royal HC. Loving some of the creativity in here and the “for Jeff Frane” needs to be an All-City shirt. Keep at it man.

Even though sometimes Kyle is a little shit on the internet, deep down he’s a good guy. Which is funny because he’s such a short lil fella but somehow he buries the niceness deep, deep down. Deep like the track drops pictured here…
