I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a touring bike. Not to necessarily go touring with, but to commute on in the rain, haul shit around and it would most likely double as a guest bike since I don’t foresee any guest wanting to ride my brakeless track bikes or vintage road bikes around NYC.

Geekhouse CX Team
I never realized Boston has so many frame builders until this past weekend. It’s not that I doubted it, I just had no idea. We were talking about smaller companies starting up and gaining success. Geekhouse is definitely one of those companies. I’ve dug their bikes for a while now and one day, maybe I can find an excuse to talk to Marty about a CX or hell, maybe a touring bike.
With their new success and busy schedules, they’re also starting up a CX team. Check out the sneak preview of the caps here.
… and I also meant to post this about a month ago. New Geekhouse track ends and fork dropouts. Nice!

Courage Stainless
Nice, right?
I want to try to post images from US-frame builders as much as possible from here on out. There are a ton of beautiful bikes that are hand-built in the States and every time I come across an image like this, I appreciate them more and more.
Courage has always made lovely bicycles. I mentioned a while back their interview on Coroflot and have been Flickr contacts with them since. When this pic popped up, I had to post it.

Riding in Circles Trick Fork
Add another contender to the 700c trick fork parade. The Italian frame builders, Riding in Circle has just released their trick fork for 95 Euro. Looks like the missing link between a 700c straight blade track fork and a unicrown like the Milwaukee Bruiser’s.

OPEN Updates!
My boys at OPEN in Boston are doin’ big thangs. I’m beyond stoked for these guys, who have built their shop from the ground up and in the short time they’ve been OPEN, they’re growing exponentially!
Check out this update from Zack
We are super stoked to share that we have formed a relationship with Freeman Transport, and are currently stocking soft-goods and very shortly, frames. As of now, we are the only shop formally working with them, which will yield some interesting projects down the road…
As well, our relationship with Traitor Cycles has been going great – there are a decent number of them moving around Boston, and Joe @ Traitor is a great dude to work with! We have a killer project with them in the works…
We’re also stoked to announce that we are working with three of the most exciting young frame builders in the Northeast who happen to represent the various methods of steel construction quite well – Icarus (Fillet Brazed), Geekhouse (TIG Welded) and Royal H Cycles (Lugged). As the exclusive dealer of these three bright and innovative builders, we work with clients thought the entire process of designing their dream bikes, from in-depth fittings to component specification. By mid-next week, we will have frames from each of them in the shop for sale.

Wow! Dick jokes aside, Sasha, this is by far your classiest build to date!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the build looks like:
-Brooks saddle
-Titan Bar / Stem
-Titan Seat post (pillar)
-Chater Lea bottom bracket
-Williams Cranks + Ring
-Diamond Inch Pitch
-Chater Lea sprint pedals
Beautiful! New York framebuilders!!!!!! This bike won “Best NY Bike” at the Brooklyn Jumble.
