In Sklar Bikes‘ latest video, Adam fabricates a custom segmented steel bicycle fork. He talks elements of fork design, machine and brazes the crown and then tig welds it all together.

Our buddy Adam from Sklar Bikes made the move from Bozeman to California and Calling in Sick Magazine swung through for a quick video visit of his new space.
Sklar Bikes‘ component line is ramping up this year and the first new product are these nifty Sklar Bikes titanium bottle cages that feature 15 mm of vertical adjustment thanks to the long slotted mounting plates. That allows you to adjust them to make room on smaller frames or for a framebag. They’re bent from titanium which is our favorite material for a bottle cage, thanks to the springy nature of the material, ti cages grab your bottles tightly, avoiding them jettisoning on a rocky descent.

Adam Sklar has been building custom bikes for close to a decade—and we’ve featured plenty of them on this site! But, in 2022 he decided to move production of a new model overseas to Taiwan. Dubbed the SuperSomething, this first production Sklar has road bike bones while still (subtly) paying homage to Adam’s mountain biking roots. Hailey Moore has been riding our signature Radavist edition SuperSomething all summer and, below, shares her review, along with insights into Adam’s design intent for this all-steel gravel bike.
