Merckx Mondays

MM-01.JPG

Today’s Merckx Mondays steps away from the Eddy Merckx label and looks at one of Merckx’s earliest professional bicycles. While Merckx rode Colnago-built bicycles for Molteni, he also rode Masi-built Faema bicycles while on the team. On his recent trip to the Vigorelli, Andrea from Eroica Cicli shot photos of Dr. Luca De Ponti’s 1968 Masi Mod. Speciale cronometro, also known as the Faema Merckx. To my knowledge, this bike has not received a lot of modern coverage and these photos are the first I’ve seen of the bike.

Check out more photos below on this very special Merckx Mondays!

Sure, we saw a sneak peek at this bike before but these detail shots are amazing. This is a prime example of what sets the Vigorelli-built Masi bicycles apart from the rest! No offense Cali-Masi owners!

Thanks so much for the photos Andrea! Be sure you visit Eroica Cicli for more classic bicycles!
