Bikepacking Roots Community Routes: The Tobacco Root Gravel Loop

The Tobacco Root Gravel Loop, created and stewarded by John Babcock and featuring some of southwestern Montana’s big sky gravel roads. This long weekender, 150-mile route circumnavigates the Tobacco Root Mountains.⁠..



The route comes with burly climbs and thrilling descents suitable for a gravel bike. Featuring three hot springs, abandoned mines, a number of historic barns, plenty of scenic vistas, some refreshing rivers, and fan favorite friendly towns, this route is sure to touch all of the senses.⁠
