All-New Pivot Cycles Vault Gets Major Overhaul

The Pivot Cycles Vault just got a refresh, shaving weight from its predecessor but that’s not all. It now has added more bottle mounts, fender compatibility, increased tire clearance to 700 x 50 mm, a higher stack (rejoice!), and some geometry tweaks to make it better suited for whatever your definition of gravel may be. Let’s check it out.

The Vault comes in two colors this round, Mossy Forest, or Stealth, with pricing beginning at $3,999 for GRX and going up to $6,149 for XO AXS.

Geo Updates

The new Vault is now longer, slacker, and taller, with a progressive gravel geometry that not only provides stability on fast rolling gravel but also helps to keep you composed in less civilized terrain. Pivot wanted to achieve perfect descending confidence while maintaining proper front-end weight and precise cornering. The new Vault allows riders to reduce stem length by 10-20 mm overall.

For more control and a sure-footed feel, the new Vault has an increased BB drop across the size range aides in providing an “in the bike” ride feel. This is paired with shorter crank lengths being specced on all sizes. The compact frame design results in lower standover heights (~20 mm) opening the fit range and allowing riders to size up or down to meet their needs.

Increase in Stack

The Vault’s increased frame stack heights create a taller, more comfortable riding position for long-haul rides. Stack heights increase ~20mm across the size range compared to previous Vault. The fork features a longer 415mm axle-to-crown, optimized for shock absorption and allows for massive tire clearance. Suspension corrected-geometry provides versatile fork configurations options no matter the type or severity of terrain. Longer 52mm fork offset and increased Trail measurements give the Vault stable and predictable handling.

Mounts

There are fender mounts, along with a multitude of water bottle/cargo mounts for an increased carrying capacity.

ISO Flex

Pivot’s patented ISO-FLEX technology is a ride smoothing damper that provides a tuned flex by creating a cushioning space between the seat post and the frame. The ISO-FLEX, insert which slides into the seat tube, is made up of a tuned elastomer and a fiber-reinforced nylon inner sleeve providing a secure interface, enhancing flexibility for a cushioned ride when traversing imperfect terrain.

The latest version of ISO-FLEX is designed to be felt, not seen. Its clean integration creates a lighter, sleeker and hidden design. It is also easier for the home mechanic to maintain only requiring Allen wrenches to disassemble and service.

Compatible with any round 27.2mm seat post allowing riders to choose from the simplicity of a comfortable carbon post or get rowdy with a dropper post.
