After my morning ride today, I swung through East River Tattoo to drop off a drawing to Lyam Sparkes, who’s in town for a few weeks tattooing. When I rolled up to the shop, I saw Duke outside working on a mural.
Check out nine more photos below, including a sneak peek at my visit to Horse Cycles.
Crihs from Empire rolled up on his coaster-brake conversion.
This used to be a track bike / alleycat / messengering machine but Crihs decided he needed a brake break.
Anyway, back to the mural. Duke decided the shop needed some work on the exterior.
So he’s painting a huge mural.
And adding tiny details like this letter box.
To add to the nicely-patinaed signage.
From there, I headed over to Horse Cycles to check in on Thomas’ work for the forthcoming Philly Bike Expo.
While I was shooting a bike outside, Chris and Blair walked by. I haven’t seen Chris in so long. Dude’s been working hard and I hardly recognized him.
One of the things I love about my neighborhood is the ever-changing street-art. This is one of my favorite artists. Love his shit. I’m stoked on how the photos from Horse Cycles turned out. I’ll probably be putting them up tomorrow or Thursday so keep your eyes peeled!
