I don’t post enough design or architecture here and I know I keep saying that I’ll make an effort to keep on top of it but sometimes it takes a special catalyst to drive the motivation. Take this recent Zaha Hadid and Suprematism installation at the Galerie Gmurzynska in Zurich. Hadid’s work has always struck me as ahead of her time. With her earliest drawings being some of the most beautiful hand-crafted pieces I’ve ever seen, once technology caught up with her design intent, it was only a matter of time until rendering became reality. In this exhibition her work is juxtaposed by early 20th century Russian post-constructionalist pieces. Amazing! It just needs more red and yellow!
