As much as I love SRAM’s XX1, Shimano is just so smooth, so when I see someone building a bike with the latest XTR group, I get warm fuzzies. Especially with one of those snazzy Wolf Tooth rings and Di2. Leave it to Firefly to build and photograph every bike like it’s a show bike. See more at the Firefly Flickr!
To answer any questions: yes, I’m building my new hardtail with XX1.
Say what you will about fancy paintjobs, with custom anodizing, but a murdered out black bike (albeit with a few color highlights) will still look so freaking rad. The latest from Firefly has me thinking about what color (or lack thereof) I’ll be painting mine.

Here’s part 2 to the Firefly Bones Project video series. On a related note, I had a dream last night that Tyler from Firefly and I got stoned and argued about disc brakes at a football game.
I feel like this is the route I’d go if I ever had a custom-anodized titanium bike. It’s simple, yet clean and refined. At this point, it’s what you’ve come to expect from frame builders like Firefly.

Firefly gets artsy in their latest video. I wonder what this is all about?
I’ve been riding the shit out of my MTBs lately and really trying to figure out what the best ride is for the Austin trails. Hardtails are where it’s at, unless you’ve got some severe terrain. Personally, I’d rip the shit out of this bike and all it’s doing is making me stoked on my new hardtail coming soon.
Firefly is killing it.

Ibex, one of my favorite wool apparel manufacturers recently featured Firefly, one of my favorite frame builders in their Circles series. That reminds me, I need to buy some new Ibex gear!

In the spirit of the Rapha Continental, the guys at Firefly have added their ‘glow’ to the list of builders who’ve contributed black bikes with a pink letter. Personally, I love that the guys use SRAM Force on most of the Continental machines. It’s like they’re meant to be ridden hard, on gravel and whatever else might be thrown in the rider’s path.
