The second annual Mile High Messenger Challenge is coming up on Saturday, February 23rd in Denver, Colorado. Check out more information at the event’s Facebook page.
One of the first alleycats I raced in was Monster Track. At the time, it was one of the most exhilarating experiences I have had. It’s crazy to think that this race is in its 14th year and has influenced alleycats the world over. Check out the details for Monster Track 14 at the Facebook page and pick up one of these Cinelli shirts exclusively at the race.
Colorado seems to be the place to be for alleycats this year. Here’s a video recap from the Boneshaker Winter Alleycat. Don’t miss out on the next race from Denver Chain Chase!

Here’s a teaser for the upcoming King of Colfax race in Denver.
I’ve yet to make it out to the Stuporbowl and once again, I’ll have to say “next time”. You guys have fun!
After a haitus, the great Boda Boda is back, bringing in coverage from NYC’s Cranksgiving 2012.
Since I can’t make it out to every rad event that takes place in SF, It’s nice to have Mike Martin of Mash to offer up some choice photos from the The Bicycle Art & Design of Garrett Chow: All Chips on the Table gallery show and Cutty Cross race. This show looked amazing and these photos will serve the purpose of introducing you to Garrett’s work if you’re unfamiliar.
Also, don’t miss out on a few shots of Garrett’s Specialized Concept Venge road bike after the show photos.

Last month, in Puerto Rico, the PR Fixed community threw a giant event called Fijate. Riders from both coasts came out to compete, party and soak in the endless summer sun of the Carribean. Photographer Aarón Borrás was there, capturing both the alleycat and the criterium. Check out both posts on PR Fixed.
If you’ve been a regular at any NYC alleycat in the past decade, chances are you’ve seen Daniel Leeb there with an entire crew documenting it. He’s been compiling video for the past ten years and has reached the point where he’s ready to do something with it. From the looks of the trailer, Messengers is a documentary about alleycats in NYC, following two key figures: Felipe and Alfred.
Cinecycle has a Kickstarter, so head over to help out.
This in from Jake in Seattle:
“Premium Rush Race Friday, August 24th here in Seattle. It’s gonna be a fun quick race with a couple of twists for the opening night of this ever so epic bike messenger movie. The race is going to end a little after 8pm in the graffiti lot across from The Paramount Theatre at 8th and Pine St. Non racers and friends should meet everyone there to award the winners and go to the movie as a group shortly after. Movie times have yet to be released but we are shooting for a showing just after 9pm at the Pacific Place AMC (600 Pine St.). Hope to see you all there!
This race is to help fund the 2013 North American Cycle Courier Championships in Seattle next summer. For more info or if you would like to sponsor this or other NACCC fund raisers events email me : [email protected]”
