Massacan Paula Made in Italy Gravel Bike $1,727 (frameset)

There are no shortage of gravel bike options out there but we recently got tuned into Massacan, a fledgling brand out of France. The brand’s flagship gravel bike, the Paula, has a lot of features like cargo and rack bosses, generous tire clearance (50mm), and a carbon fork.

Massacan went to Italy to have these aluminum frames constructed because it felt making frames in Taiwan or China was adding unnecessary carbon payload when they could go over the border in the EU to Italy and have these frames welded and finished from Dedacciai 7005 tubing.

We dig the playful design and branding on the Paula and we think you will too! Check out more at Massacan.

Rivendell MUSA Pants in Black and Coyote $118

If you’re looking for new pants, we can’t speak highly enough about the Rivendell MUSA pants. They’re full of bike-friendly details like an elastic cuff at the ankles, making hiking them up to avoid chainring interference all the easier, a gusseted crotch, stretchy fabric, and they look damn good off the bike.

Rivendell just dropped two new colors for fall: Black and Coyote and we’re having a hard time picking just one! While you’re at it, throw in one of these new Riv pins

SON Nabendynamo Edelux USB-FL Teaser

At the Bespoked in Dresden, SON presented the latest version of its USB charging headlight with a newly designed high beam function, the Edelux USB-FL. SON’s engineers have made several improvements to this bombproof platform.

For one, the SON Edelux USB-FL has improved charging electronics and is equipped with a small buffer battery that is seamlessly integrated into the headlight housing. This allows up to 10 Watts of power to be harvested from the hub dynamo while in use. Even with the light on, you can still charge your smartphone – simply connect it using the magnetic cable to the handlebar switch, and you’re good to go!

Other improvements:

  • Headlight for common hub dynamos
  • Solid design and lighting technology based on the Edelux II
  • Bright low beam (120 Lux) and high beam function
  • Charging electronics and battery (1200 mAh) fully integrated
  • Handlebar switch includes USB charging port (up to 7,5 W/1,5 A) and status LEDs
  • Up to 10 Watts power harvest from the hub dynamo – more than any other common charging solution!

The new Edelux USB-FL headlight with high beam function is set to hit the market in spring 2024 so stay tuned!

Rogue Panda Challenge Sailcloth Ultra Fabric Options

Lots of bag makers have resisted incorporating Ultra PE fabrics for bike bags, mostly due to the misleading marketing claims being used to promote them. Phrases like “stronger than steel” are technically true, but don’t get at the heart of what actually makes a fabric durable in the real world.

But after months of testing, Rogue Panda has decided that these ultralight fabrics deserve a permanent place in its product line! These high-tech fabrics deliver exceptional abrasion resistance at half the weight of the brand’s other fabric options.

Rogue Panda is now stocking the Ultra 200X fabric in two colors – Black Magic and Gravel Gray (pictured). They’re available on frame bags, top tube bags, and all dry bags. Roll on over to Rogue Panda for more!

Quirk Insignia Titanium Seatpost £395

The Quirk Cycles Titanium Seatpost is the first of a series of components designed to complement Quirk’s custom frames but is just as at home on your bike! Comparable in weight to carbon, yet more flexy, titanium for many offers more significant bump dampening for a smoother ride – more cush for your tush! Made from a 3D-printed top welded to a grade 9 tube, these seatposts are a unique and beautiful way to upgrade your ride.

These seat posts are made in batches—the first pre-order batch closes on November 17th, with the first deliveries on Jan 1st, 2024.

Specs:

  • Enve 2-Bolt System
  • 27.2mm diameter
  • 350mm length

Good Company

It’s not about the fastest times, posting for likes, or medals around your neck. It’s about sharing laps, bragging rights, and the unseen moments in between because an epic day in the mountains is always better with good company.
