Locked Components Titanium Hi-Riser and Sparta Bars

Locked, makers of titanium components, have two bar models the readers of The Radavist might be interested in. The Hi-Riser is a traditional moto-inspired bar, harkoning back to the days of Magura bars on the first mountain bikes and klunkers, coming in at 780mm wide, 31.8 or 35mm clamp, and 50mm of rise. The Sparta bars are a traditional, modern MTB bar in terms of shape, but ditch the carbon in favor of titanium. With 9º sweep, 15mm rise, and 31.8mm clamp, and weighing in at 340 grams the Sparta Bars are a robust option for those looking to switch things up on their cockpit. LA Doesn’t Need Mountain Biking

Old Man Mountain joined the Los Angeles-based Lowelifes for one of their monthly work party campouts to gain a little insight into what makes their trail organization different from other groups in California. They do grueling work; from long hours breaking up granite with 60V demolition hammers, to cutting out forests of Poodle-Dog Bush. They also know how to have fun, hand pressing tacos for their volunteers in the backcountry. Join in and learn more about Lowelifes and what makes the trails around LA so special.

The Frek Story | an 82′ Trek 650b conversion

Steve built his original Frek years ago and it was covered in the winter 2016 Bicycle Quarterly magazine, which gives more detail on his original vision/inspiration accompanied by in-studio photography.

“I can always quit later.” – BONKED with Lael Wilcox

Are you stubborn enough? Do you have supernatural tenacity? Point blank, listening to MSO’s Bonked series for inspiration, motivation and emptiness-based creativity may, sometime in the not too distant future, be the only difference between you getting Outside The Inside and back on your feet, or not.

John’s been sifting through hard drives, digging out some old relics to repopulate some lost galleries here on the site and we really dig this perspective of his old Indy Fab…
