The Pandemic has left people with a lot of free time to pursue new hobbies. How many of your friends became sourdough bakers, xeriscapers, or home improvement gurus with all their newfound time at home? Eric Puckett is a long-time friend who always had sewing skills but once he was forced to work at home and couldn’t spend as much of his time outdoors, he began making bags for cycling, rock climbing, and more. Recently, he made this hobby into a side hustle called Farewell Bags. I caught up with Eric last week to shoot his new bags on his own Salsa Timberjack, so check out more below…

In the world of bicycle portage does the world really need another bag company? Sure, why not?! Eric makes these bags one-at-a-time, as per the customer’s color choices. The Barrel Bag uses Voile mini straps to secure the bag to your bars and is 7” wide X 5” tall X 5” deep and is constructed out of 1000D Cordura™ Nylon with pack cloth liner and a YKK #5 waterproof zipper. The Barrel Bag is made to order with a 7-10 day lead time and can be built from five different colors. The price is $88.

The Stem Bag is large enough for a Nalgene bottle, or a small mirrorless camera. It too is made from 1000D Cordura™ Nylon with pack cloth liner, from your choice of five different colors. It too has a 7-10 day lead time. The price is $65.

When it comes to carrying a tube, co2, and a tire lever, nothing beats a minimal saddle roll. The Tool Roll is made out of 1000D Cordura Nylon and secured to the underside of your saddle rails with 3/4” webbing with a YKK ladder lock buckle, from your choice of five different colors. It has a 7-10 day lead time. The price is $30.

Eric’s personal Timberjack has a lot of great color accents and is built with reliable products. The Industry Nine wheels really make the orange accents pop and the PNW Components dropper made this bike even more shreddy.
