UK’s Restrap Moves to a Bigger Facility

It’s always exciting to see makers in this industry grow and that’s the case with the UK’s Restrap, which recently moved from a 6,290sqft factory to 12,250sqft, doubling their production space. Check out their press release below, along with more photos of their new digs.

The 5th of February marks a new step in the Restrap story. We started in 2009 with our signature pedal straps, which were handmade in our founder’s bedroom, we are now a team of over 50 members of staff, manufacturing and selling globally. Throughout a busy 2020 here at Restrap HQ, we saw a huge interest in bikepacking and cycle touring. We were bursting at the seams to meet capacity and working night and day to get orders to our customers.

We soon realised there was only one option – we needed to move. With help and support from Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, we have now moved to a new factory just a stone’s throw from Leeds City Centre. By upsizing from 6,290ft/sq to 12,250m/sq, we’re now in a position to take steps to not only streamline our production processes to be more efficient than they’ve ever been before, but we’re now certain we’ll be able to meet the demand of an ever-changing industry.

Because Restrap is dedicated to keeping all our production in-house, our current facilities include, precision laser cutting, CNC cutting, 3D printing and of course, a locally based workforce of passionate machinists. We have always made our products by hand in the UK and we will continue to do so, with the same level of dedication and commitment to our customers that we have had throughout the last 11 years.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting 2021 planned. We’re currently working on a whole host of new and innovative products, plus several brand partnerships that will push the boundaries even further, and we can’t wait to announce them.
