The days of the blinged out fixie and track bike craze may have dwindled, but that’s not stopping Phil Wood from releasing pure gold like this. What do you think of this teaser? Head to the Phil Wood Instagram to stoke them out!
… and plenty of filler time in between. Great vibes in this one.
Track bikes in the city can turn any ride into a completely new experience and perhaps that’s what Jimmy was looking for when he built up his new All-City Big Block. That and an excuse to put all his balleur parts he’d been hoarding on a new bike. Why wouldn’t he? These frames are beautiful with their sparkle paint job and street-friendly geometry. The velo hip will note the special edition Phil Wood splatter track hubs, the Sim Works Caroline stem, White Industries pedals, Sugino outboard bottom-bracket cranks with a RWB AARN chainring and a super rare grey suede Selle Flite saddle. To be completely honest, when I saw this bike all built up at Golden Saddle Cyclery, where Jimmy is the manager, I couldn’t believe how well it turned out. The best part is, Jimmy actually rides this beaut too! Well, sometimes, anyway.
Keep crankin’, Jimmy!
Two friends of mine are fierce competitors in the track bike circuit. Watch Sammi and Ash battle head to head!
Beautiful cityscapes and tourism vibes abound on top of a handful of Dosnoventa track bikes.
When I posted this trailer last week, I got a text from a guy who has worked in the industry for decades. The dude is a legend, in many regards. His text said, “You know, I spend my days telling my company that making cycling look cool isn’t easy, but that Dosnoventa video made riding bikes look cool.”
You know what? I’d agree.
Compared to last year’s event, the 2012 Red Bull RideNStyle race track was a huge improvement. The lanes were wider, racers were required to use some of the fixed freestyle course and with the addition of two banks on the staircase, people were encouraged to gap the channel. Much as I anticipated, the competition came down to four racers.
In the end, it came down to Addison Zawada, Hern and Walton. Three strong racers, all out for it and the crowd was into it.
