The Polyvalent is Velo Orange’s do-it-all; gravel, commuter, tourer, you name it. These frames have a rather large and generous tire clearance. It will fit 650b x 48 or 26 x 2.3” (smooth tires) with fenders. Without fenders, the Polyvalent will fit a 650b x 2.1” or 26×2.3 (knobby).

This new model features a “Low Kicker” top tube, making it easier to dismount when the bike is loaded, offers an easier exit for those with limited flexibility, and make the bike more comfortable in urban environments where there are multiple stoplights or stop signs.

“We got slapped by Mother Nature above the bush line and dragged our butts like popsicles into Ghost Lake hut as the full ferocity of a storm hit. This scuttled a chance to do the full out and back but we still ended up with riding 104km of the gnarliest sections twice! The few who had booked for this mid week period must of canned due to the forecast. We essentially had the trail to ourselves except for the toiling of the Old Ghost Road trail crews. An unforgettable way to celebrate 48 times around the sun w a couple of super mates…”

Titanium is the greatest material for a bicycle and Bombtrack clearly knows that which is why they took their Hook EXT and made it from titanium for 2021. The Hook can take 650b or 700 wheels, has plenty of bosses for cargo attachments, and is only available as a frameset.

The Kepler is Brother Cycles’ do it all drop-bar bike. Gravel, light touring, commuting, and forest-bound shenanigans. The Kepler is a 4130 frame, with ED coating under the paint to prevent corrosion, can run either 700×45 or 650×48 wheels, has mounts for racks/fenders, with three bottle mounts. For 2021 the new Kepler now features flat-mount thru-axle dropouts with a replaceable derailleur hanger, s-shaped chainstays, and a unicrown steel fork.

It’s a multi-purpose tourer, built with custom-specified Reynolds tubing, like a Reynolds 631 DZB downtube, and 631 front triangle, with a 37mm 4130 head tube and stays, with 68mm of chainstay clearance which will fit either a 700 or 27.5 wheel. That’s big enough to fit a 27.5 x 2.4” Continental X-King Tyre on Hope XC rims. These bikes have all the fixins to make them an ally on randonneuring events, S24O, or even a full-on tour. Fairlight has pulled together an extensive product catalog on the features of the Faran MKII, which I highly suggest checking out. It’s not often a bicycle manufacturer goes to these lengths describing their new product.
