Cycling has a way of sneaking up on people. A lot of folks begin their love affair with bikes through commuting, which turns to road riding, gravel, and beyond. One such person is Kamil, from Finland, who found bikes through this utilitarian path but is now using his Pelago Stavanger as a veritable all-rounder…

With the holidays approaching we like to spend some time looking back at 2021 and give some of our favorite products a shout-out. In this post, we look at John’s personal favorite products of the year. Some are cycling-related, others are just solid staples John’s enjoyed using this year, so let’s get to it!
Pelago Bicycles the makers of the popular rack and basket all in one, the Rasket, has just announced a new all-road bike dubbed the Stavanger. It’s designed for gravel riding and bike touring, with lots of cargo bosses, a large front triangle for a framebag, and yes, fenders. These bikes are designed for 650b or 700c riding and come in a legit size run (42cm up to 63cm). Check out all the details at Pelago Bicycles.
Pelago, the makers of our beloved Rasket, just announced new commuter racks in various rail widths. Available in both black and a chrome finish (pictured), the new aluminum racks have adjustable mounts to fit bikes with wheels from 26″ up to 29″, as well as low-rider pannier mounts. The max load is 10kg for all three sizes, so they’re perfect for a pizza, case of beverages, or even a Wald Basket.

I’m not alone when I say how much I love a good basket bike. Typically, you either run a Wald basket with the stock struts and that’s enough. Many people run a Wald, sans hardware, zip-tied to a rack. Pelago has taken the latter and made a rack and basket in one. It’s called the Rasket and it’s a sturdy resolution to create the ultimate basket bike.
Pelago, the Helsinki-based urban bicycle brand, just announced their simple and well-designed racks gained distribution through the US’ premiere bicycle distributor, QBP. Now their racks. including the Rasket combo, can be ordered from any shop that uses QBP.
If you’re not going to Interbike and live in SF or LA, make sure you swing through the Mission Workshop stores for the Carhartt WIP and Pelago parties. Los Angeles’ party is Thursday and San Francisco’s is Friday. Check out the details below.
This collaboration came out really well. The previously mentioned Carhartt WIP x Pelago Bicycles x Mission Workshop collection is now in stock at Mission Workshop.
Pelago takes a look at the bikes they offer and their owners, beginning with set designer Tobias Allanson and his Pelago Hanko.
