Bike thieves suck. Colin got his last Sklar road bike stolen last year here in Los Angeles. It was one of those moments where we all dropped what we were doing and rode all over the neighborhood looking for it. While that event was less than ideal, the resulting bike is what is featured here on the Radavist today.
A lot of people emailed us asking what bottles were on the Chapter2 AO all road. Well, here’s the answer. They’re made by our friend Swizmade, inspired by the design of grenades. Now instruments of war ain’t for everyone but clearly people dig these… head to Swizmade to swoop.
If you like the color but don’t like the design, we’ve got plenty of olive drab bottles for ya…
We’re really stoked on our collaboration with Giro Cycling on an olive drab capsule collection. This set includes a Synthe Helmet ($270), VR90 Empires ($300), and DND gloves ($25), all in color-matched OD green. This collection drops on Monday, so ride over to your local Giro dealer to place an order today to ensure you can get your size. A small run from this collection will be live on Giro.com come Monday morning, but to ensure you can order what you want, make sure you head to your local dealer ASAP.
Thanks to @alonsotal for looking so sharp! We’ll post another reminder on Monday, this post is just giving you a heads up so you don’t spend all your paycheck this weekend. You can see more preview photos at our Instagram.
Fuck yeah olive drab! I love OD green bikes. In fact, I love anything OD green. There’s something so utilitarian about it. Take something completely ordinary and then paint it OD for it to be even more bad-ass. Even a Speedvagen. Not that Speedvagens aren’t already made from bad-assery, but the paint doesn’t hurt.
This one came waltzing in Golden Saddle Cyclery a few weeks ago, begging to be photographed. Seemed the current owner bought it from someone who maybe rode it two or three times. It’s immaculate and thankfully, now it’s being ridden a lot on Los Angeles’ fine dirt roads and trails.
There’s something so timeless about canti brakes on a ‘cross bike, especially with that seat mast-puncturing cable!
I once made a comment about having too many olive drab bikes, to which a good friend replied “better than too many purple bikes…” Touché.
