Red Bull Ride + Style Event Schedule #rideNstyle

For those of you who were invited to compete in the Red Bull Ride + Style event next weekend in SF, I’ve got some more details for you. Check out the event schedule below, along with some teasers of the ramps Red Bull is building!

1. Launch Party at Oakley Store on Thursday, April 28th
Please arrive at 8pm at the Oakley store (842 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102), we will have paperwork for you to fill out, and a few other things for you as well. We will have an open bar with Red Bull, Svedka and PBR for everyone in attendance over 21 (and you are each allotted a +1 for the event). At 11pm, we will close down the Oakley Store, and for anyone interested, there is an after-party planned for The Tempest (431 Natoma Street). This is an INVITE ONLY party.

2. Helmets
We’ve been getting quite a few questions on this one. Helmets are optional, but HIGHLY recommended for the event. There isn’t a whole lot in terms of padding on the course, and a lot of features on freestyle course are large. The racing portion is going to be head-to-head with some tight turns in the mix, too. Additionally, both disciplines will run multiple riders on the course at once, which makes it even more dangerous. We want this event to be fun and run smoothly — two things that can easily be interrupted by a serious injury due to someone not wearing the appropriate gear.

3. Event Schedule
Here is how the event is going to run on Saturday, April 30th:
10:30AM – Rider Call (Riders who missed Thursday MUST be here at 10:00am instead)
11:30AM – All courses open for practice
NOON: Qualifying for Track
1:15: Round of 16 riders Begins / Freestyle course closed for practice
3:00PM – Track Finals / Freestyle course open for practice
3:20PM – Freestyle Heat 1 begins (followed by Heat 2, 3 + 4)
4:40PM – Freestyle Finals
5:30PM – Awards Ceremony (Track + Freestyle)

4. Sneak Peek
Attached to this e-mail are a few pictures of the freestyle obstacles being built. They will be shred-ready very soon, with the artists involved with the event adding some finishing touches on it during the week.
