Donhou Bicycles Utility Bicycle £995

Donhou Bicycles launches an adaptable new Utility bicycle so let’s check out the official press release:

Our Utility project has been many years in the making. From our very first award-winning, custom town machines you may have seen gracing the isles of the Bespoked and NAHBS shows, we wanted to take that concept and turn it into a more affordable, accessible package. After all, a city bike needs to be something you can leave locked up, right? As times and needs have changed over the years, so has this project and we’re really pleased with where we are now at and finally being ready to launch!

“At its core, it’s an extremely capable and dedicated urban machine, designed to adapt and grow with you as your lifestyle changes. And of course, it’s all wrapped up with some of the beautiful and thoughtful touches you would expect from Donhou Bicycles” Thomas Donhou – Donhou Bicycles

Doing a mid-week shop? Your daily commute? Or you need to load up for a weekend pic-nic? If you think a cargo bike is more than you need, then this is a great cross over, before needing to make that jump. It’s a fun full wheeled bicycle, tuned to carry a front load, for when you need to get your laptop to work, or the shopping home.

At the bike’s heart is its geometry. We slapped our hands together, breathed deep and took a nice long, deep, dark, dive into the geometry rabbit hole for this one. By building a fully adjustable “test” bike, we could look at steering geometry and handlebar shape as a complete package. Through iterative testing, we dialled in the geometry and handlebar shape to what we deemed to be the best balance for a bike of this nature. By pushing things too far in each direction we could locate the boundaries and find the sweet spot!

We have lots more design details explained over on the Donhou site, including more info of the test rig, so head over for all the details…

While they are currently listed as “Out of Stock”, you could always drop them a line on Instagram and ask politely. ;-)

Safi Works

“Safi Sana” means “very good” in Swahili. When I was 20, I travelled around Tanzania with my old school mtb; Safi was the only word I knew and I was repeating it again and again to show appreciation and closeness to the humans that were offering me all they had: “Safi Safi Safi Sana Safi Sana” “good good good very good very good”. Since then, I knew that, whatever I would do in life as a personal project, would be called like that. A word full of joy, energy and humanity, that’s Safi.” – Peter oftheSpoon

Rapha Films Presents | Thinking Clearly

He might not be a household name but for many cycling fans EF Education-EasyPost sports director Andreas Klier is a living legend. Renowned for his next-level knowledge of every cobbled sector from the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix, Andreas is only too aware that professional cycling demands complete dedication. To be in this game you have to give all you’ve got so away from the races he seeks relief amid the peace and quiet of his art studio. In this film we find out what keeps Andreas riding today and why painting is a part of his life in the peloton, not an escape from it.
