Radar Roundup

We’re back with another Radar Roundup where we take some of the news items to come across our inboxes into an easy-to-digest dump of sorts, culling down the clutter from our homepage and making it easier to stay on top of what’s going on in our little corner of the cycling industry. This will come particularly in handy when it comes to spring/summer product drops from our favorite brands.

Check out our Radar Roundup below with products, videos, and a Radavision entry…

Team Dream Winter 22 Drop

With something for everyone, Team Dream is back with a full webshop including socks, jerseys, bibs, shorts, bottles, and so much more. There are so many products to choose from in this drop that we can’t say for certain what our favorites are! See for yourself at Team Dream.

Desalvo Rolling Chassis

Mike DeSalvo, like most builders, is getting creative with his frameset “rolling chassis” packages due to supply chain shortages. We really liked this artwork, designed by Bicycle Crumbs and the message Mike has for his customers:

“Happy New Year!! With drivetrain parts in short supply these days I will now be offering a rolling chassis option for my builders special. Maybe you can rob drive train parts from an old bike or find parts from online sources — we all have to get a bit creative these days to get bikes on the road. I will do my best to keep all of the parts included with the rolling chassis in stock as orders can take many months to even years these days. I am really looking forward to a more streamlined approach so I can keep the bikes moving. Thanks to everyone for the support and patience!!”

Soomom Pro Cargo Merino Jersey

Soomom’s new Pro Cargo merino jerseys are inspired by the classic apparel worn by professional cyclists in the 1960s. These jerseys feature two large chest pockets, as well as more traditional back pockets for an interesting take on a timeless classic…

The Athletic Returns

The Athletic has returned and they’re fully stocked with shirts, jerseys, bottles, and of course socks. Hop on over there and show the returning brand some support.

Videos from the Radaverse

Andrés Projects on YouTube came up with this slick friction generator light setup on his Crust Romanceur by incorporating it into a Waxwing Demi Porteur bag.

This mind-altering video contains scenes from a mountain bike road trip adventure I took with my son, from Minnesota to the Southwest. We rode singletrack, camped outside with snakes, and ate all our favorite gas station foods. The vacation vibes are potent.

WildSam Field Guides

Some of our favorite guides aren’t on the internet, they’re in books, both old and new. When we found these WildSam Field Guides, we knew they were onto something. Most of the bicycle routes we’ve shared here over the years come from off-road books from the 1970s and 1980s and while they don’t offer all the information, they do inspire us to travel to those areas. If you’ve been curious about some of the zones WildSam covers in their guidebooks, now might be a good time to check them out!
