Grinduro 2019: BTCHN’ Gravel Bike

This year at Grinduro, eight frame builders presented bikes in partnership with Maxxis, Sram/Zipp, Columbus, and Hope Tech. The theme? What is your ideal Grinduro bike? In the first post, we’ll look at BTCHN Bikes’ gravel bike.

Tyler Reiswig from BTCHN’ Bikes is a special kinda clever and this bike was the attention grabber from the bunch. Built around the 27.5 wheel size with 2.2″ Maxxis Ardent Race tires and SRAM AXS, delivering not only the “Mullet” gearing but a wireless Reverb too. The SRAM kit is topped off with Hope Tech calipers and rotors. A painted to match Columbus fork offers different offsets with a flip chip. Once you look past the flashy paint, you’ll note the seatstays, which really grabbed my attention. The seat tube cluster is one thing but how the stays intersect with the dropouts is perfection.

This is a true Grinduro bike, complete with Carsick Designs bags, three bottle cages, and gearing to climb Mount Hough. Twice.
