The last Dream Bike raffle was a huge success with the Calfee Manta Pro, this time Easton’s doing a different kind of Dream Bike with Rock Lobster! Find out how you can win by reading below!

“Easton Cycling has announced the second installment of The Dream Bike Charity Raffle, an aluminum Rock Lobster race bike. The Dream Bike Charity Raffle is a promotion giving away hand-built road bikes from Caletti Cycles, Calfee Design, Black Cat, Hunter and Rock Lobster. All proceeds from each raffle are donated to five charities selected by the frame builders. Each bike is outfitted with Shimano Dura Ace and Easton EC90 components including the new EC90 Aero 55 wheelset. Raffle tickets are available on Easton’s Facebook.”

“This raffle is a chance for riders to win one-of-a-kind bikes from legendary frame builders practicing their craft in Easton’s corner of the world,” said Easton Brand Manager Dain Zaffke. “These are some of the best builders working today – and guys we ride with – and we saw a great opportunity to give their artisan work a wider exposure while benefiting charities of their choice. Of course, the bikes will all be outfitted with the best possible Easton EC90 components, including our new EC90 Aero 55 wheelset, the fastest road racing wheelset available.”

Beginning in late August 2013, riders can visit facebook.com/eastoncycling to purchase raffle tickets. Each month, a different dream bike is given away, with all proceeds benefitting the charity of that builder’s choice. The Dream Bike Charity Raffle kicked off with a carbon fiber wonder bike from carbon fiber pioneer Calfee Design. This first installment saw nearly 2,000 raffle tickets sold, with 100-percent of the proceeds benefitting Cyclists for Cultural Exchange.

The second bike in the series is a signature “sea foam green” Rock Lobster hand built in Santa Cruz, CA, by Paul Sadoff from a mix of Easton’s Scandium and Ultralite 7005-series aluminum tubing. It’s light (sub-three-pound frame weight), it’s efficient, it’s fast and it’s surprisingly compliant. “Aluminum gets a bad rap from people who haven’t ridden it,” says Sadoff.

“The early tube sets did have a harsh ride, but that all changed when Easton introduced butted aluminum tubes in the early ‘90’s. Right now 80-percent of the bikes I build are aluminum and I get positive reports every time.” All proceeds from the Rock Lobster raffle go directly to Project Bike Trip, a non-profit that brings hands-on technical training in bicycle mechanics to high schools. Similar to wood shop or auto shop, this program prepares youth for job opportunities (in this case careers within the bicycle industry). Learn more here.
