A Day in 10 Photos: 06.03.2010

Ever find yourself in a place where the things that used to be important to your life have been put on the back burner? This week I realized that I hadn’t been to a museum in NYC in a long time. Looking for inspiration, I headed over into Queens to check out PS1’s Greater NY 2010 showcase.

Upon arrival, I got to see the winner of 2010 MoMA / P.S.1 Young Architects Program, Solid Objectives setting up their event space for the 2010 Warm Up.

Check out more photos below.

If you’re confused as to what’s going on here, check out the Solid Objectives submission video right here.

The crew has a ways to go. These styrofoam benches will most likely be receiving some sort of waterproof sealant in the days to come.

While inside, immersed in the local talent, I managed to take a few photos.

There’s a strict policy against it, so I had to be quick about it.

Like always, I get caught up in the details.

I think this was my favorite installation. An entire room’s floor made out of Louisville Sluggers.

Framing the repetition. It was a great way to spend the afternoon and I walked away with a lot of ideas. Just what I was looking for!

After Peel Sessions (my ankle’s still all swollen, making it difficult to ride), I headed out in the neighborhood, scouting for spots for an event I’m working on next week.

These aren’t so much clues, as much as they are just random glimpses into the areas I visited. Stay tuned for a new event coming next week, the Peel Out Sessions!
