USAC Cyclocross Development Program: A Belgian Experience Feb 13, 2015

This looks really great:

“The USA Cycling Cyclocross Development Program focuses on international training and racing with the aim to make an impact in World Cup and World Championship competitions. This short excerpt was filmed during the busy holiday race period (December 2014) and shows young American cyclocross racers (Jr Men, U23 Men, Women’s Youth) training near Vorselaar, Belgium and racing in Loenhout, Belgium.

Under the direction of Head Coach Geoff Proctor, the program achieved strong results in its build-up to the world championships in Tabor, Czech Republic in late January, 2015.”

  • Bad ass clip, classic Prefontaine quote!

That looks like it would be an awesome feature doco.

Local hero Jerry Dufour! Watch out for him next season…or this MTB season.

I am just some fat shitty Cat 4 in a sub-par cross market, so whatever, but I really appreciate Proctor’s improvement on the US cross program over the last ten years. It’s great to have hand ups, and costumes, and fun shit. All that is fun and great, but I am really, really glad there are some kids taking cross serious and looking to make a dent in the low-lands stranglehold. The pre-quote at the end says it all. I am glad there are people taking cross in the US very, very seriously. It deserve that respect.

Chapeau, really well done Story House.
