Mission Workshop _ PiNP Bike Tour: Day 05 Mar 31, 2013

There are some mornings when you just vibe with your bike. It’s like you’re one unit, working together. Your legs are loose and you can just go. We all had that moment this morning. After a late start, we all hit our course and just cranked away. Our destination was the bamboo forests, in Moganshan. You can check out more below…

We had to make it through a few smoggy cities but as each mile passed, we knew that the clean mountain air awaited us. With only one climb on the route, the track bike riders loaded up on food and hammered away. I was very impressed with Tyler and Jeff’s handling and endurance on their track bikes and I can’t wait to see how my Mamiya photos came out.

Once we arrived at our lodging, a restored cottage, nestled in the looming bamboo plants. It’s quite the sight. We spend all day tomorrow here, exploring the mountain roads and singletrack. Expect more photos tomorrow, for now, we’re all going to rest up and enjoy nature. We totalled 70 miles and only 1,600′ of climbing but every single moment was fun!

Check out some narrated photos in the Gallery and keep an eye on Mission Workshop’s (@MissionWorkshop), Factory 5 (@Factory5) and my Instagram (@JohnProlly) during the day for updates.

  • I’m really enjoying your posts -I’ve done a fair bit of mtn bike touring on the dirt tracks in taiwan and a bit of riding in guilan over the years. I’m over there for work quite a bit as part of what we do at the company i am part of (innate.ca) -If you folks are in guangdong region mid april let me know and maybe we can connect for a ride.

That’s some serious climbing to do on a track bike. I hope they have a safe descent.

Really enjoying this series of posts.

  • Fantastic scenery in the last picture.
Hopefully we’d all get to see this, you sure encourage a person to visit another country.
