I just spent an hour cleaning out the hard drive on my laptop, making room for more photos when I came across photos of Pete Rubi’s Igleheart cross bike that I took while I was in Portland. In fact, these photos were taken the day before I left for my tour. I was nervous as hell and figured the best way to spend my last day in PDX was to go watch crit races. At the end of the afternoon, Pete pulled up on his singlespeed conversion cross bike. It was gorgeous. A well used beast from the Boston area. Igleheart’s bikes are pristine and if I ever got a custom cross bike, I’d look to his shop for one.

I think we can all wipe the drool from our lips. Check out the segmented fork, dummy brake cable and dents showing this bike is well loved. Pete works at 21st Ave Bicycles in Portland, so if you’re in the area, swing by and say hello!
