While yesterday’s ride was filled with external stresses, today’s ride came from within. Almost as soon as I started to ride, my left knee was killing me. It hadn’t bothered me before and so I figured it’d go away with some ibuprofen and a stretch. For the next 20 miles, I tried to adjust various things on the bike and finally it felt better. That doesn’t mean that I wasn’t completely wrecked! I’m writing this the morning after and I’m still beat.

So I didn’t really spend a whole lot of time shooting digital today. Most of my shots were on my 35mm black and white but here’s a few.

Here’s the route:
What did I learn?
-Don’t bring a lot of food up a hill. I stopped at a town just before the last series of climbs thinking there wouldn’t be any provisions before camp.
-If your body hurts somewhere (i.e. knee), stop and evaluate everything.
-Don’t push yourself. Remember, you’re going to be on the bike for a while.
So I’m heading out today for the Redwoods. If you’re bored at work, follow me on Twitter for more updates!
