The last time I was in Los Angeles, Sean had his Yashica on a ride we did up the 2 one morning. It was the most epic I’ve ever seen that lonely highway and his photos really captured the mood. I love the shot of Kyle and the crow.

You might have caught wind of this already, but this morning, I switched over from the @JohnProlly handle to @theRadavist. If you were previously following @JohnProlly on Instagram and Twitter, it’s already switched to @theRadavist. My reasoning was I would be able to showcase more of the contributor’s work, allow “take-overs” during events and most importantly, grow the community surrounding the site. There are a lot of big projects in the works this year and I can’t wait to share them with you, not just through my lens, but through other’s as well.

If you’re not following Digital Still Sucks on Tumblr, you’re missing out on a lot of great, yep, you guessed it, film portraits. That one of Meredith Miller is amazing!

This always comes across as cheesy, but I really do want to thank the readers of this site. We work hard over here to keep things positive and we really try to do our best at representing what the Radavist means to us and most of all, the importance of having fun on your bike.

It’s easy to be negative in the comments and thankfully, most of you keep it civil with appropriate discourse. While it’s not always easy running things over here, it’s worth while and we’re all very grateful for the community that exists on the site.

So yeah, it’s cheesy but thank you!

I’ve been trying to pull together a Gallery from all of the summer road trips (and rolls of film) shot this year, but am waiting for the weather to get much worse. Although, it seems everyone’s dealing with record lows.

Regardless, looking at photos like this make me miss sun burns and late sunsets…

Fender company Ass Savers is partnering with Rapha to bring Trackside ‘85 Photography Exhibit to Rapha Cycle Club Manchester as the exhibition’s final 2014 destination:

“Gothenburg, Sweden, 7 November, 2014 – After successful stops in Berlin, Barcelona and London, the Trackside ’85 photo exhibition presented by Ass Savers travels to the Rapha Manchester Cycle Club on November 18th for its final stop of the tour. Staffan Jofjell’s brilliantly captured photographs from the 1985 Berlin Six Day track race will be on display from November 18th to 23rd to coincide with the Six Days of Ghent…”

In the world of cyclocross team kits, you can go a few directions. First of which being the standard issue (and most common), three or four colored panels and a bunch of sponsor logos with a pixelated team graphic. Second, you can go just plain crazy. All-over animals, cupcakes, donuts, cats, pandas, whatever. The brighter the better, more is more, instead of less is more.

From the looks of the new TCB Cyclocross kit, they went the third route: classy, with just the right amount of logos and clearly inspired by Cali surf style of the 1980’s. Now, if they only all piled into a Datsun to get to the races. Ok, or a YOTA.

After all the manure, cattle grates, and potential stampeding you on your ride, cows are good for at least one thing: making ribbon-like singletrack along the sides of country roads. Fun to ride on any bike. Apologies for this one being late!

This morning a few friends and I left for a three day mini bicycle tour / camping trip. I’ll be back Monday, so make sure you get plenty of time on the bike this weekend!
