Watch ERTZUI FILM’s Length of Sweden Film on VOD Feb 2, 2018

Two years ago, I flew to Sweden to document the Sverigetempot, the longest randonneur event in the world. ERTZUI FILM was there too, covering the event with their pristine eye for video. Now, after a long, long wait, the film is live on VOD. Head to VOD to watch, check out some of my favorite photos below and see the coverage in the Related sidebar.

  • Good stuff.

Great movie but I am not a fan of anyone showing highway cycling as a practical or glorified thing. I understand it in this context but I don’t adhere to any kind of heroism versus statistical probabilities. It’s just cheesy to trucks wizzing by (way too tired) cyclists in low viz.

    • The section of road you’re talking about – is not a highway, it’s a 2-lane road – is in the first 20 miles or so of the event if I’m not mistaken. It’s the only road in the far North and the whole race had no choice but to be on it for a short amount of time. You may deem it cheesy, but it’s the reality and something the documentary film makers wanted to show. It’s equivocal to showing someone touring on the 1 here in California, but imagine giant logging trucks whizzing past cyclo-tourists, not just RVs.

first 80miles from Riksgränsen to Kiruna is a pretty narrow road with two lanes and some trucks/Rv’s. But it’s also the _only_ road up there.

then you have the E45 through pretty rural parts of sweden for at least the next 900miles.

It’s really nice to see home from visitors perspective, especially to see the small quirks and details that i’m so used to that I don’t really pay attention to them any more. good job!

The three part series (two years ago … really?!) was so well put together. What a beautiful word “Sverigetempot” is – sounds like Sweden Tempo. Says what it is.
