Richard Sachs Seat Lug Survival Kit Nov 13, 2017

Details matter. Especially on a bicycle. From the cable stops to even the seat binder bolt. If anyone knows about this, it’s Richard Sachs:

“The RS Seat Lug Bolt and Nut are precision machined from aerospace grade stainless steel solid bar stock. The pitch diameter of the bolt was held to a super precise tolerance prior to cold forming on dedicated thread rolling equipment. Rolled threads result in a part that is 30% stronger and has a superior surface finish. The care put into this one component demonstrates that whether you are making parts for airplanes, or for bicycles, the details matter.”

Is that for getting engaged or for holding up your seat post and should you take a knee when you present that to your bike?

    • I’ve seen a lot of comments about this bolt but yours wins by far.

  • Bicyclepubes really outdid himself with this one, looks like a real product!

  • For when even that overpriced vintage NOS Campagnolo bolt from eBay, just won’t do.

What are the actual benefits of this thing? What problems is it solving? All I’ve heard about this is how much craftsmenship has been put into this.

It’ll keep your seat post in place when riding at supersonic speeds and/or on the ocean floor.

Im certain this part is well designed and manufactured. Really doesn’t need the rest of the clobber and the packaging though. Whoever buys this will certainly already own an allen key and grease. The piece speaks for itself. stick it in a jiffy bag and lose some $ off the srp.

This is awesome. I have had this bolt break and could tell the default was crap. As others have said it is steep….but if you have it flaunt it. Sachs appeal.
