Win a Free Custom Frame at Grinduro Scotland!

Here’s the latest from Grinduro and the Bicycle Academy:

“Grinduro is an event that truly captures the free spirit of cycling and this is a unique opportunity for me to share my experience with a broad range of people and send one lucky soul home with a new bike,” said Denham. “Live building a frame throughout the weekend will be a challenge, but I’m looking forward to sharing my experience in the clinics open to riders, and I’m particularly excited about the chance to teach some basic brazing skills to the local Isle of Arran youth.”

Bicycle Academy activities throughout the Grinduro Scotland weekend will include:

Brazing Clinic – Three sessions throughout the weekend will be open to every Grinduro Scotland rider, giving them a chance to wield a torch and learn the fundamentals of brazing steel. This 20-minute tutorial is free to all riders, and each participant will leave with their own handcrafted Grinduro key ring and bottle opener.

Youth Tutorial – During the competition phase of Grinduro Scotland, Denham will conduct a youth tutorial on brazing for local kids at Arran High School.

Live Bike Build – Andrew will be building the giveaway winner’s frame throughout the weekend, turning a selection of high-quality Columbus steel tubes into a finished, ready-to-paint frame complete with Columbus Future Gravel carbon fork. His work will be clearly visible to all Grinduro folks. During check in, before awards, and while they’re kicking back with food and beer, Andrew will be sweating the details on this frame.

Seven independent bike builders will also display their work at Grinduro Scotland, each creating their own interpretation of the “ultimate Grinduro bike.” At least four builders will even be racing the event on their creations. Grinduro Scotland attendees will have a chance to vote for the Best Design, with the chosen frame builder winning a trip to Grinduro California.

Registration for Grinduro Scotland in Arran on July 15 is open now at www.grinduro.com/scotland.
