2017 NAHBS: Stinner Frameworks GSC Grateful Dead Shred Sled

Where do I even begin here? Kyle from Golden Saddle Cyclery loves the Grateful Dead and the team at Stinner Frameworks loves a challenging paint scheme. After a few design emails were passed between the two, this is the final product. Built with all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted, this bike is ready for just about anything Kyle can throw at it or jump off of with it.

SRAM’s Eagle 1×12 drivetain will ca-cawww into the San Gabriel mountains with those plump 2.8″ ONZA tires and King bits all around. That rowdy Pike will make minced meat out of the granite babyheads and all the while, Kyle will be singing his favorite Dead tune. Yes, this is a delightfully absurd bike and I can’t wait to see it dirty!

    Log Lady 2.0.

Should I put Eagle on mine?

      • breed007

Absolutely. You’ve got to do something to crush that vert in STL.

  • Are you kidding me? Holy shit you guys.

  • Evan Robinson

I only listen to 2 of the studio albums and have a favorite dead song, does that officially make me not a fan?

    • Chris Valente

Just download a bunch of ’77 shows and tell people how much you like Morning Dew and you’ll be good.

    • Brett Rothmeyer

sometimes I secretly listen to American Beauty, don’t tell anyone.

    • I just like Pigpen.

  • Love the Standing Rock / LNT bottle combo! We have like four of the Standing Rock ones floating around my house.

  • Ted Barbeau

Whoa. I’ve been dreaming of a small frame pack that attaches to unused water bottle bosses. Any chance those are being put into wider production or just a one-off for the show?

  • Harry

So sick! Love everything about this….also; Tukt!

Excellent bike – beautiful paint. Kyle, maybe you can chime in on this: how much input did you have on the paint? Did you tell the guys at Stinner “this is exactly what I want” or was it just more of an idea you gave them and let them run with it?

    • Hey Yo! I gave the boys a few reference photos of Bob Weir’s custom Gary Fisher, but that was about it. The boys over at Stinner came up with a fade based on a few old concert posters and did a the hands and the roses based on Bob Weir’s bike. We then tweaked a few things, including the Stinner graphics, which we added texture to make it seem like they were printed on a poster. In my opinion they killed it, I haven’t seen it in person yet, but am definitely looking forward to it.

Thanks Kyle! The bike looks great – I’m sure you’re excited to get your hands on it.

    I’d ring her neck good..

  • Brett

Well it’s no late 90s Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo …

  • Looks like a dialed geometry and solid build. Can I have mine in a Melvins theme please.

  • Alex Boyd

I love how much is going on here. This is the best. Reminds me of a much better executed Demo 7 tattoo from 2007. Well done y’all!

So nice – interesting choice of bars going with the Camo Answers – was there a specific reason for camo handlebars?

I think 2.85 might be the only size the skinwalls look in proportion on Onzas. Killer bike.
