Luckily, this new video from Kona gives a little insight into what it’s like to cycle in arguably one of the most cycling friendly places on the globe. I’ve been living in Helsinki since September, riding all winter was no big deal but as everyone keeps telling me it was very mild this year. It stuck at around -10 for a while and dipped to -20 every now and then but as long as you put a few layers on riding is fine. The worst was when the snow started to melt (a month earlier than expected) and we were left with a a few inches of ice underneath, that really sucked. Spring is in the air now and everyone is out on their bikes again, there is a really great ‘cycling as transportation’ culture here, seeing the old folks out and about doing their shopping by bike always makes me smile.
