Michelin Cyclo Cross Inspired Under Armour Fat Tire GTX Feb 3, 2015

Remember those Michelin Cyclo Cross Mud tires that came with that bright green tread? Well someone at Under Armour does, as that was the clear inspiration for these Gore Tex, weather-proof boots. Complete with a BOA-enclosure, they’ll keep your feet dry, warm and we all know how well that tread will grip in snow or mud. All I can think is they’d be perfect for some fat bike riding… Easily the best looking product to ever come from Under Armour.

Spotted at Uncrate. Thanks for sharing this, Neil.

Why doesn’t Michelin still make the green tires? They were awesome.

Yeah, but for fatbiking in the snow. C’mon!!! it’s a fatbike. They’re kinda gross by definition. haha

I’m not a fan of this shoe. For future UA x Michelin projects I would like to propose the attached design inspiration.

Did I see a pair of those during the Elite race this weekend?

I heard the commentators day that Wout was running the green Michelin tread on FMB or (Dugast maybe) skins.

Abso-freaking-lutely ridiculous. And damn I wish I had a pair for my trip to Mt. Baker this weekend!

“inspired by mountain bike tire treads”? Grrrrr.

I’m pretty sure this is really more of a nod to the super popular 90s Wild Gripper XC MTB tire, not CX tires… the CX tires are cool but CX was never as popular as regular old MTB.

A little Juli Furtado circa 96 on some green Michelins. :-D

I’ve been running in these dudes for about a month and they are a blast. I was shocked at how much UA maintains the cushy flow synonyms with fat tire. I wore them at CX nationals and the wild gripper came in handy whilst chugging cider and heckling in the mudd. I would stay off the road with them though.
