Topo Designs: New Lightweight Mountain Shorts Jun 12, 2014

I have been wearing the Topo Designs Mountain Shorts since they first got them in stock last year. They are easily one of my favorite shorts and they’re not made from any tech fabric. Sure, they don’t dry as fast, or have any real “stretch” but I love the fit and I can’t find anything wrong with them.

I’ve been waiting for them to re-stock their standard Mountain Shorts to do a little review, but it seems that they went straight to a new model: the Lightweight Mountain Shorts. Guess what? They’re quick-drying, stretchy and come in four colors. Best part is, they’re made in a LEED-certified facility in ColoRADo.

In stock now at Topo Designs!

Any comments on fit compared to the New Road overshorts?

Not sure. They fit true to size though. I wear a 32 or 33 at the waist in everything and the mediums fit perfectly.

Nice that the inseam changes with size as well.

    No camo :(

Really hoping they do a restock of the standard Mountain Shorts soon!

Heads up for people looking at the Mountain Shorts Lightweight. Fit great but there is no stretch. Size up.

My husband has a pair of Levi’s Commuter Shorts, but when he gets riding they’re pretty constricting around the leg opening. I’m wondering if anyone can compare these shorts? He’s 6’4″ 165lbs, could be either small or medium, but it looks like the leg opening is the same or smaller than the Levi’s?
