Having used the commuter chinos for over a year and the commuter 510 jeans for over a month I’m not going to waste any more money on Levi’s cycling specific clothing.

The cut and the quality just isn’t there yet. Maybe if they improve in the future..

    Great off bike though..

I’ve had 2 pairs of the 511 commuters blow out on me from riding much faster than cheaper, non-“cycling-specific” jeans usually do. The U-lock thing is a gimmick, and the reflective tape gives out after a wash or two.

Super into my black commuter trucker jacket. Worth every penny. Have 2 pairs of the pants, and yes the U-lock thingie is a gimmick, and the reflectivity washes off of the inner pant leg, but I dig ‘em. Frankly, the way the rear pockets wrap around the side of the jeans can make for a fatter ass kind of look #VANITY, but I use those pants ALL THE TIME and they are very comfortable for cycling.

Cool threads, but I just can’t get into cotton for riding on a bike. I mean, cotton is pretty much the worst thing you could wear during ANY athletic activity…

The form is definitely there, but the function could use a little help. When I see great commutery-urban clothing, I look at Outlier or Giro New Road, those guys have it dialed. No silly gimmicks, just clothes that work for their intended purpose and look good.

I’ve found that an old pair of 501’s work perfectly for years and more than half the cost. I haven’t quite experimented with any of their outerwear, any reviews?

I love the commuter jeans. I have Cadence, Rapha and Levis bike riding pantalones. For me, the Levis are the most comfortable and work the best. (The Cadence last forever but the diaper effect of the reinforced butt panel is a drag. The Rapha rubber gusset thing around the waist chafes, but the fabric is amazing and the detailing is the best.) No blowouts in over a year of riding in ‘em. A bit thin for cooler weather, but solid. Agreed, the U-lock loop is pointless.
