Keith Anderson Cycles: America’s Crimes Against Italy Jun 3, 2012

I just had to post this photo from the Keith Anderson Cycles Flickr, based on the name alone. Resprays: a crime?

nope. if you can repaint a 60’s corvette, you can repaint a bike.

The only problem I could see would be the very few assholes that would repaint them, and try to sell them off as mint condition originals. I used to work for a guy that dealt vintage guitars and he ran into some issues with people trying to sell him fakes, when in fact they were repainted and aged to look old, thus fetching more than they were actually worth (to the tune of thousands of dollars). But other than that, I think it’s great and beautiful when done with the right intentions.

The colors are the worst part, I mean a pumpkin Colnago?? The blue one is my doing. The color looks like ass. It’ll never be worth as much as a ’59 Les Paul burst, but at least it will look like a million bucks when I get done with it. Thanks.

It’s just a bike. People get far too precious about what is really just a tool/vehicle/piece of sporting equipment. Bikes don’t have souls and I reckon that’s a good thing.
