Back in SF: Sorry for the Lack of Updates

Hey guys, I’ve been kicking around with the usual suspects. Sorry for the lack of updates today. Expect some more posts soon! In the meantime, follow me on Instagram – JohnProlly – (or just go to the bottom of the site and check out the feed).

Chris’ Blue Nagasawa Track

Reportage

Chris’ Blue Nagasawa Track

I’ve got a few friends here in Austin with impeccable taste in bikes. Chris is one of them. His Eddy Merckx Pista and matching Eddy Merckx road have been featured here before and today I’ve got a gorgeous Joe Bell-restored blue Nagasawa. When Chris got the frame, it had surface rust and the paint was all chipped up. He’d always wanted a Joe Bell-painted bike, so he contact Joe and set up a restoration. When Joe finished his work, Chris built it up and the end result is stunning. The blue just popped in the late afternoon sun and the freshly-paved asphalt alleyway was the perfect backdrop. This bike is a beauty. See for yourself below.

Road Exploring

Reportage

Road Exploring

Sometimes, you just need to go off and take those roads you ride past everyday, or jump over the fence that says “No Trespassing”. These shots were all compiled during a few days I spent out wandering the hills and forests on my road bike.

Firefly Bicycles: Signature Downtube

Firefly Bicycles: Signature Downtube

Personally, I’d much rather have a builder’s signature on the downtube, rather than the top tube. And if this is a cross bike, it’d make for prime photo ops during #crossiefreestyle box jumps. Can’t wait to see how this new Firefly turns out!

English Bicycles: Project Right Singlespeed Road

As far as collaboration bikes are concerned, anything involving Geoff Mcfetridge is going to turn out stunning. This newest Beautiful Bicycle comes from English Cycles:

“Last year, Jason at Fairwheel bikes in Tucson approached me about building a frame for a customer who wanted a singlespeed road bike to have custom paint by artist Geoff McFetridge. Seemed simple enough. But then Jason had an idea about doing a single-sided frame…. Generally always being up for a design challenge, I said sure, and set about figuring out how I would do it.”

Kenny and His Cannondale Cargo

Reportage

Kenny and His Cannondale Cargo

Kenny always has the nicest work bikes. His Raleigh, Guerciotti and now this Cannondale track bike have been featured on the site but this one takes the cake. Chris Lee bought this frame a few months back and realized it was too big for him, seeing an opportunity, Kenny snatched it up. Since the original fork was nowhere to be found, he picked up a similar track fork and threw a Cetma on it. Now the fork and the rack have a nice patina to them and Kenny is already riding it into the ground. As evidence by the bird shit all over it, he’s more into the ride, than keeping a museum-quality icon of the 90’s track racing scene.

Golden Saddle Cyclery Kit Pre-Orders

Kelli’s modeling the Golden Saddle Cyclery kits, which are probably the best shop kit ever. These are now available for pre-order, so do so now at Tracko!

Details:

“So starting today until May 7th(Kits should be delivered 4 weeks later.) we will be doing a pre-order for the Golden Saddle Cyclery kit made by Endo Customs here in Los Angeles, CA. The jersey can be purchased in white or black(you can even buy both like I did). A unisex bib and women’s short will be offered, along with arm warmers. Key features of each piece are listed on the items page. Feel free to email kyle@goldensaddlecyclery.com with any questions. Both the women’s and men’s jerseys are race cut. I’m not saying size up, that’s just the cut. You’ll have to decide how aero you wanna be. These things aren’t cheap by any means but compared to a lot of other brands out there I’d say say we’re offering up a pretty competitive price for premium goods manufactured here in the U.S. of A. And I’m damn sure you’ll be the best looking one on the ride, making you more confident and a better cyclist.”

I hear Kelli sold her track bike to buy a BMX and a road bike? WTF?!?!?

Oh and they’ve got more of the Intelli GSC caps in stock now!
