I just woke up, broken, hungover and beat. This past weekend was a steamroller. As the nation’s fastest (and most belligerent) bike messengers descended upon Austin Texas for the 2011 North American Cycle Courier Championships, I prepared myself for the usual: partying and shooting photos.

Last night was a blast. The NACCC has really proven to be an incredible event here in Austin. After a day of racing (more on that later), we all headed to Red 7 for the after party. Prizes were given out and bands played. It all got a little outta hand towards the end…

For the past few days, it seems like the entire messenger community in the States has descended upon Austin, Texas. Beer, BBQ, bourbon and bikes have consumed my life but I managed to take a few photos at the opening party for the 2011 NACCC.

Today was a blast. There were two flats, one guy went down hard and overall, we rolled 23 miles and 2,300′ of elevation. Chas and Jason stuck to it on the track bikes and Lucas Brunelle came along. Does that mean there will be video? Mayyyybe.
Today I picked Chas up from the airport and after finally tracking his bike down (love ya Ben), we built it up at the Whole Foods parking deck. Everyone’s in town, amped to hang out and rumor has it, this will be the biggest attendance ever for a NACCC, even trumping SF. Follow me on Twitter for the madness and my Flickr set will get randoms dumped into it.
Party and race on!
