Yu Short Edit and a Broken Fork Mar 28, 2010

YU short Edit. from YU KU$UMOTOh! on Vimeo.

Long sliders, 180s and a snapped fork. Damn! Look where it snapped too. Right at where the fork blades were welded onto the steerer. I wonder if the long-sliders are the culprit. I’ve been doing these a lot lately and I hope that’s not the case. Regardless, Yu’s getting creative with the nose-manual tweaks.

I’m pretty sure it’s the GOrilla fork.

I think it’s GOrilla. watch it frame-by-frame at the very beginning. Unless he put a GOrilla decal on his fork.

In any case I doubt it’s just sliders that brought the fork to that end. 180 to slider off 3 or 4 stairs as is the norm these days? Not always so smooth? Fucked up tricks of any sort, the ones not worthy of putting in the video, those are the ones putting the most stress on the fork.

good to see at least half a second of flatland in any case, perhaps more people should follow that dude’s lead.
